MEET THE “WE LOVE” RESIDENTS
We Love Sundays At Space knows the importance of great residents. This year, in addition to the long list of on-island residents, We Love welcomes a key group of international artists to the team, with a few familiar faces joining some new ones.
We Love… Sasha – A welcome return for a We Love original. Sasha plays around the world at some of dance music’s most important venues, heads up a record label championing forward thinking house music, and last year released the critically acclaimed album Invol<3r. With one epoch-defining Space residency under his belt already and a one off Terrace performance last year which went down as a season highlight, this year Sasha returns with four very special Last Night On Earth events at We Love Sundays At Space.
“Space has always been the natural home for me in Ibiza. It’s the club I have had most association with over the years. I can’t wait to get back there on a regular basis this summer for my Last Night On Earth parties. It’s a real honour to have been invited to host these shows on the legendary Sundays with We Love and I’m excited that I get to mix it up between the terrace and the discotheque. I couldn’t be happier with the list of guests joining me throughout the summer. It can’t start soon enough!” – Sasha
We Love… Skream – Skream makes his We Love debut this summer, bringing a fresh injection of his eclectic sound. Skream’s rapid rise to stardom began as he made his name as a pioneer of dubstep. He also draws disco influences through collaborations with some of the genre’s biggest names and curates house and techno flavoured events around the world. It is fair to say his tastes are varied! This summer he presents four exclusive Skreamizm shows at We Love Sundays At Space taking over one of the main rooms for each party.
“I always end up having more than a lovely time at We Love. It’ll be a pleasure to be partying with the crew across the summer.” – Skream
We Love… James Zabiela – One of We Love’s longest serving residents James Zabiela returns for his 13th year. James’s style and technical wizardry have made him famous the world over, but it is his taste in music, desire to be at the cutting edge and unrivalled ability blow the roof off which secures his place in the We Love family year on year. He hosts a total of four events at We Love in 2014, including two very special Born Electric label takeovers.
“We Love is my home from home. It’s where I learned my craft and where I’ve had some of the most memorable experiences both as a DJ and as a lover of music. We Love always program in a perfect balance of forward thinking music alongside festival dance floor behemoths, whilst retaining and embodying the spirit Acid House for new generations to enjoy.” – James Zabiela
We Love… Dusky – Last year’s guests become this year’s residents. In 2013 Dusky performed at We Love twice on the main Terrace and once in the Discoteca. The shows went down as some of the best of the season and this year they make a welcome return as monthly residents. The duo will perform four times across the summer, showcasing their version of a house sound which is becoming synonymous with a new wave of Ibiza DJs.
“The best lineups in Ibiza in the best club in Ibiza. What’s not to love about We Love..?” – Dusky
We Love… Paul Woolford – There are few acts as representative of We Love as Paul Woolford. Paul has been part of the Sunday lineups for the last 10 years and is as much a part of the family as he is resident DJ. His Hot Flush release last year, ‘Untitled’ became an instant Space and Ibiza classic. His Soul Music album, released under his Special Request moniker, was hailed as genre defining and, although it seems counterintuitive to think of such an experienced artist “breaking though”, it catapulted him to centre stage once again. Paul is back with four performances this summer.
“We Love have consistently provided a unique, innovative and dedicated experience for the people of Ibiza and visitors to the island. I am honoured and thrilled to represent the We Love family once more as a resident in 2014” – Paul Woolford
We Love… Bicep – Back room favourites become main room residents. Bicep has played pretty much every room in Space since their first gig for We Love in 2008, but wasn’t until last summer that they took control of the main rooms. Their three amazing Terrace shows proved their readiness for the step up to the bigger arenas. With a string of acclaimed releases on some of house music’s most respected labels, including their own Feel My Bicep imprint, and a touring schedule taking them around the world, this season they’re back for four exclusive main room performances including one very special Discoteca show.
“Can’t wait to great back on the white isle playing for the We Love crew… This will be the sixth year we have played so it’s now pretty much a family holiday. Never seen the main rooms go off in Space like they do at the We Love parties, gonna be fun putting that huge system to work again!” – Bicep
We Love… Ben UFO – House, techno and everything in-between with Ben UFO. 2014 will be Ben’s third year playing for We Love and this summer he returns as a monthly resident. The Hessle Audio co-founder sits among the stars of the UK scene. His performances over the last few years have been We Love favourites and shown a level of craftsmanship more often associated with artists with double his Space experience. Always experimental, never lacking confidence and always dance floor destroying.
“Can’t wait to be back on the island for We Love again this summer – particularly looking forward to playing on the terrace for the first time and, as always, playing with some of my favourite DJs.” – Ben UFO
We Love… Disclosure – The superstars of today present four exclusive Wild Life events at We Love Sundays at Space. Already announced for these marquee dates are Derrick May, Henrik Schwarz, Octave One, Ame and more. We will be announcing the full lineups for these shows and our entire summer programme in the next few weeks. Watch this space!
“We Love is one of our favourite club nights in the world. Best lineups, best sound system, can’t wait to bring Wild Life there…” – Disclosure
